On New Year’s Day Fred called us up on Skype from Switzerland and we said hello not only to Fred and Theres but also to Lou. What a lovely treat to see you all in person. Thanks for the call.

Hi everyone!

Contracts have been signed and team ‘Naraena’ will be moving to ….. The Netherlands! We shall be moving to Klazienaveen, near Emmen in the province of Drenthe. We shall be taking possession of our new house on 7th October and hope to make the final move from Sweden at the end of October/first week of November. My mind is running around in circles but hopefully all will turn out right in the end. Aaltsje – you must be a mind-reader!!

An explanation as to why I have been so quiet. No, I shall keep you all in suspense a little longer. Will just reveal that the Naraenas, canine and feline, and their willing slaves will be moving. But where to ………? All will be revealed soon!!!

Today I updated Grace’s page after her super wins at the hands of her breeder, Lucia. Josefine took the lovely photos. Doesn’t she look good!

I was unable to go to the show as I was in the UK for a very sad occasion, the funeral of our very dear friend, Brian Nichols of the Barlestone Norwegian Elkhounds.

She looks beautiful and now weighs a respectable 22kgs. What a fantastic time she has had with Cisca, Frans and Linda and it is so wonderful to see her back to her ‘old’ self in time to celebrate her 10th Birthday when we see her in just over a week. More pictures on her page.

…. and now for the Norwegian Elkhound stand in the ‘Discover Dogs’ Section. A place where the general public can gain information about all Kennel Club recognised breeds, talk to breed experts and enthusiasts and their dogs in order to find the breed best suited to their lives.

The Viking Family came on the day the Norwegian Elkhounds were being exhibited. They are members of the Viking Society who allowed the use of the helmet, shield, axe and spear. They caused lots of interest throughout the day. I managed to get a picture from the opposite direction showing the opposite wall of the stand and our Viking friend was fully dressed! Boy, that chain mail must weigh very heavily after a few hours!
